LO4: Examples of social marketting

Image
This is an example of how I previewed the music video on instagram via my story, which allows anyone to see it once they have followed me or viewed my account. By using this below the line marketing method I advertise the product directly to fans of Ellis's music and people who follow my music account. An recent example of a popular social media page doing this would be Lyrical lemonades advertisement for Post Malones newest song Motley Crew

Unit 15 Report

Eminem Survival   This song was a promotional music video that was done with the release of Call of Duty Ghost   In the opening of this song we here the non digetic sound of the beat and the music video shows a figure walking down an ally and the end of the ally the hooded figure walks through some smoke this is a refrence to the game as smoke grenade are in the game we start to here digetic sounds as we hear the lyrics at this point the camera shows a quick scene of drums being played and we start to hear them this make them a digetic sound the camera the returns back to the hooded figure who has painted the logo of the game that is being promoted. The hooded figure is then revealed to be Eminem and he starts to rap while he is rapping game play footage is being shown on the wall behind him. In the intro there no graphics but many transitions for example Eminem is being shown then the camera switch to showing a light and then a road. The editing in this is really rough...

LO4 Feedback report

After obtaining feedback from both the focus group and questionnaire we have determined that as a group the best way to improve our product would be by syncing Ellis with the lyrics from the song more carefully which would allow us to make the cuts more fluid and engaging for the audience, we believe that if we had done this it would've most likely resulted in more shares which would further propel the video.  To build on this the way we implemented special effects could have been done better, as our final product only consists of a few green screen shots, some static effects and a warp effect that folded the screen on itself.  If we had implemented these special effects better we could have made our product look more professional. However given that we actually now have experience I believe we could focus our skills as editors and add more and better special effects.  Furthermore we realised from feedback that by filming more shots an...

LO2: Proposal brief

Eternity Music video  Group- Reece Pulham, Elis Mawby, Adil Khan and Toby Kataryna Once forming our group the first thing we did was seek permission from the original artist of the song to allow us to Create the music video. We began emailing the artist for permission this was rather easy as this was an underground artist so he wanted all the exposure he could get  Overview of the Product: We are planning on making our audio visual product performance only, while featuring Ellis dancing and mimicking the lyrics that are featured in the song. The length of the music video will be 2:33 which is the length of the original song. Our goal is to increase the artists overall target audience by distributing the product on Youtube and other services similar to Youtube. The locations that we are planning to use will be grimy and broken acres on Doncaster to fit the theming of the song and to imply that Ellis is still underground and a small artist. Potential costume ideas include ...

LO3: Report production

After failing to obtain an area to film at the Rovers stadium we had to look for areas that were around town for the music video. This included different alleyways and even behind the Savoy cinema. However, we eventually chose an underground carpark that is near the UTC college. This stuck with our original theme and proved to be a better choice as the grimy dark car park fit the dark nature that is shown within the lyrics of the song. While we have not yet gotten a written consent from from the owner, we were able to obtain verbal consent from a security guard and he let us film without any hassle. While there we were smart enough to take our precautions into action and make sure that we didn't get hurt or damage any equipment while there. This seemed to be difficult with our group especially with the fact that we have broken equipment in the past. Even with this handicap we managed to finish filming that day and without any SD failures.  We also filmed in outside area...

LO2: Legal and ethical issue with our product

Due to VOD content increasing in popularity and music television programmes having decreased in viewership, we have no need to censor content for a tv programme like MTV as Youtube allows the use of offensive words in music videos. However our music will still be regulated by the BBFC so our content can be viewed via tv programmes like MTV or on radio stations. Even still we may need to censor some offensive language to ensure we do not offend different groups, This may cause us to create both an uncensored and censored version of the song that we can upload to ensure a wider audience can also listen to the song. Ellis's song may also be used to represent our college so we should definitely make sure any offensive words that can effect how people see us are not used to ensure that we offend the least amount of people and bring the reputation of the college up. The contents of the song do reference illegal activities and things that may be censored by the BBFC, so to prevent this ...
